August 30th    Another Main Event Win!!!!

I started 4th in the heat race which turned out to be a really muddy slippery track. With the track such a mess it wasn't much of an eventful race but I was able to work my way up into second place behind Jeremy Castro. The main event didn't start out much better because they watered the track right before we had to race and then they started the race before they should have so we had a pretty slippery start. I laid back for the first couple laps waiting for things to clear up and then I decided to let her go. At one point I think I was all the way back in last place before I tore into it. From then on I was passing about one car per lap until I had worked my way up to second place behind Castro. From there I had to hold the bottom line and be patient for the right time to get around him. As you can see in the video, I waited for him to go a little too high out of turn two and then I took him on the bottom side. Congrats go out to Dennis Kenaston for winning the Street Stock track championship.

August 23rd ANOTHER SWEEP!!!!!!!

All I can say is WOW!  I never would have imagined that I'd have 3 clean sweeps in a row. I changed the way I set my car up 4 weeks ago that really seems to be what my car likes. I started the heat race in 5th place and by the third lap I was in first place. I widened the gap fairly fast and finished the heat with a nice lead. I started the main in 7th place and had to work pretty hard to get to the front. By the 6th lap I had worked my way past all the fastest cars so all I had to do was maintain a good low line without messing up. Once again Dennis Kenaston was on my tail the whole race and even made a few attempts on the outside but I was able to hold him off for the win.

August 9th  ANOTHER CLEAN SWEEP  THAT'S 2 IN A ROW!!!!

Another great night at the races. I started the heat in pole position next to Roger Kuehn in the #21 Nova and right in front of Kenaston and Castro. I must have nailed the setup on this one because I won the race with a huge lead over second place. I started the main in 7th place but by the third lap I was in the lead. It was another really dry slick one lane track so I knew I had to maintain a low line and not let anyone underneath me. I held a good line and finished in the lead for the win. Kenaston was right on my rear the whole race and could have easily taken me out so I thank him for running a clean race. To make the night even better my brother Troy won his third main this year and my good friend Scott Rhodes won his first main event.

August 2nd CLEAN SWEEP

A great night at the races. The heat started out with a good battle between myself and Jeremy Castro. We were side by side for 3 or 4 laps until Jeremy pulled on me and took over first place for a couple laps. I was able to pass him back for the win on the last lap. The Main was an eventful one with Castro and Kenaston fighting for the lead early on with Castro ending up in the tires and Kenaston getting sent to the back. I fought my way to the front of the one lane track and held on for the win.

July 20th

This was a Sunday night race with only the Street Stocks and Late Models. I ended up finishing 5th in the heat race and 6th in the main. It was a really dry slick night for the main. At one point I had worked my way up to third place on the one lane track. I wasn't happy with third though so i tried to pass on the outside a couple times but every time I went high someone would dive underneath me and pass me. I should have stayed low and been happy with a third.

I'm missing a bunch of dates because we were building a new house.

May 31st

Not a good night, I took 3rd in the heat race and 12th in the main because my rear-end went out.

May 17th

This turned out to be an excellent night of racing. I started my heat race in third place but moved into first place before the first lap was over and retained that position finishing 1st. I started the Main event in 5th place and with one or two laps I was in second place and fighting for the lead. Myself and Adam Burrows in the 18B car were battling hard for the 1st place spot and at one point I got past him for the lead for about 4 or 5 laps until he was able to get by me and barely hold on to the lead putting me down for a second place finish. There are some really fast cars out there this year and the points race will be tight. As of now I am in second place for BMP points just 3 points behind Jeremy Castro's' #20 car.

May 10th Season Opener

Saturday night was the opener for the 2008 racing season. I got my engine back late Thursday afternoon with a little assembly left to do so it was a struggle to get it put back together and installed before the races on Saturday night. I fired it up for the first time around noon on Saturday and then had to hurry to get everything ready for the races. My heat race didn’t go so good, I started in 1st place and was off to a decent start but then had an ignition wire come loose so I fell back to last place for a few laps before my car decided to come back to life for the last few laps and let me pass one guy before the end finishing 5th out of 6 cars. I started the main in 10th position but was up to third place in a matter of two or three laps. Before long I was in second place and battling back and forth for first place with Jeremy Castro. It was without a doubt the best race of the night with myself and Castro taking turns for the lead. There were a lot of crashes going on behind us so the caution flag kept coming out. No sooner would I pass him for the lead and the caution would come out so I would have to start over behind him again. After about the 5th caution flag they decided to cut our race 7 or 8 laps short so when the last green flag flew I only had 2 laps to try and get around him and I wasn’t successful so I finished second place. Congrats to Jeremy for running an awesome race to the win.....it was a blast to run side by side with such a good clean driver.
